Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd (SJIBL) organised a workshop on 'Basel-II Operation' at its head office in the city recently.
Muhammad Ali, managing Director of the bank, inaugurated the workshop as chief guest, said a press release.

Abu Hena Mohd Razee Hassan, general manager of Bangladesh Bank, was the keynote speaker and DGM of Bangladesh Bank KM Abdul Wadood was the guest speaker at the workshop.

In his inaugural speech, Mr Muhammad Ali said that proper implementation of Basel-II would help promote the adoption of stronger risk management practice by the banks.

Abu Hena Mohd Razee Hassan and KMA Wadood discussed the key areas of Basel-II focusing on minimum capital requirement, supervisory review of capital adequacy and market discipline.
