State Minister for Water Resources Md Mahbubur Rahman speaking as the chief guest at a discussion on "Role of Zakat in Poverty Reduction" organised by Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited (SJIBL) at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the city Saturday


A discussion on "Role of Zakat in Poverty Reduction" followed by Iftar Mahfil was organised by Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited (SJIBL) at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the city Saturday.

State Minister for Water Resources Md Mahbubur Rahman was present as the chief guest at the discussion while Chairman of the board of directors of SJIBL Eng Md Towhidur Rahman presided over it, said a press release.

Former director general of Islamic Foundation Syed Ashraf Ali was present as the key speaker.

SJIBL Founder Chairman Sajjatuz Jumma, Director Mohammad Hasan and Managing Director Muhammad Ali also spoke on the occasion.

A large number of clients and well-wishers of the bank took part in the discussion.
