Md Abdul Jabbar Chowdhury has recently been promoted to the post of deputy managing director (DMD) of Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited (SJIBL), said a press release. Prior to his new assignment, he was the senior executive vice-president (SEVP) and head of Chittagong zone of the same bank. He obtained his postgraduate degree from Chittagong University and started his banking career in 1973 through Janata Bank. During his 26-year service in Janata Bank, he served in various capacities including branch manager, corporate branch chief and regional head.
